Governors across the nation have identified the health care reform for their citizens as a top priority.

Health care reform is a top issue in every state.  Governors from all states have worked to adopt legislation and regulatory policy that protect consumers.  Their concerns are are focused to ensure proper access to health care services, and promote quality care.

States also ensure that insurance carriers remain fiscally solvent, medical records are held in confidence, and beneficiaries are protected from fraud and abuse.

States work to support a flexible in the health insurance market in which the provision of health insurance remain equitable and the prices affordable for all citizens.

Governors have been leaders in developing purchasing alliances for small businesses, high-risk pools for the so-called "uninsurable," tax credits for businesses and individuals, and health/medical savings accounts.
